Indian-Chinese Army in ‘Hand-in-Hand’ Military exercises

Continuing exercises earlier ahead between the Indian and Chinese Armies was ‘Hand-in-Hand’ 2018 which took place in Chengdu in China’s south western province of Sichuan for two weeks from 10 December 2018. Representing the Indian Army was a Company of 11 Sikh Light Infantry who were flown to Chengdu by an Ilyshin Il-76, the validation exercise on 22 December being reviewed by Major General Sanjiv Rai, GOC 3 Mountain Division.  

The Indian and Chinese troops carried out integrated live firing and carried out counter-terrorism exercises in urban and jungle terrain which “provided an opportunity to both the forces for a greater understanding and strengthening mutual trust and cooperation”!
